Byrd High School celebrates 100 years this year, and to commemorate the occasion, the Byrd Alumni Association hosted a three-day Centennial event. The anniversary weekend culminated with the Ultimate Reunion Event at the Shreveport Convention Center on Saturday, June 7. The event featured live music by Souled Out Entertainment and DJ Static Shock. — Mark Crawford

The Bossier Arts Council hosted their annual martini-themed fundraiser, Artini, at the newest event space in town, Live! Casino. This was the 15th year for the fundraiser, and the theme was “On The One.” More than a dozen restaurants and organizations were serving martinis, including the Heart Gates Vineyard, The Se7enth Tap, The Library on Fern and Saint Laurent Pizza. The winners included People’s Choice: Koi Asian Fusion; Judge’s Choice: Bella Fresca; Most M’Artisanal: Krewe of Centaur. — Mark Crawford

The Strand Theatre hosted its 41st season announcement party on Thursday, June 12, on the stage of the historic theater, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. The roster of entertainment features nearly a dozen shows, including “The Music Man,” “Hades Town,” Betty Buckley, “The Choir of Man” and “ELF” in concert, featuring the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra. Tickets are on sale now to the Friends of The Strand and go on sale to the public on July 21. — Mark Crawford
