Shreveport Regional Airport hosted the 16th opening night party for the newest show of Artport: In Southern Dimension on Thursday, June 5. Originally started 35 years ago in 1990, this year’s Artport show features more than 85 local and regional artists who have created custom sculptures, paintings, murals, large-format art and digital art, all of which are on display inside the airport concourses. A silent auction featured nearly 100 items up for bid, which benefited Volunteers for Youth Justice. — Mark Crawford

Robinson Film Center celebrated “The Magic of Musicals” at their annual fundraiser, The Robbys. Walking in the front door of their downtown Shreveport location, guests were greeted by Emerald City from “The Wizard of Oz” in the lobby and then transported to Greece with the “Mamma Mia”-themed Kennedy Theater, which featured karaoke. On the second level, the VIP area was themed after “Moulin Rouge,” and the party room was themed after “Grease.” All money raised helps fund all aspects of the Robinson Film Center’s mission. — Mark Crawford

ShrevePride held Q Prom 2025, themed “Haus Party,” at Eleven Events on June 21. The event featured live music by The Backseat Heroes, drinks, dancing and a celebration of those who have fought Pride throughout time. — Paul Savage Jr.
