The annual Shreveport-Bossier Alumnae Panhellenic fundraiser at Lewis Gifts was held on Nov. 6. Sorority alumnae enjoyed appetizers, wine and shopping. The money raised is used to support the spring recruitment information meeting for all of the Caddo-Bossier high school senior girls who are considering going through sorority recruitment when they enter college and a scholarship for an area collegian. – Mary Ann Van Osdell

A fair-trade Mission Marketplace was held Nov. 2-3 at Broadmoor United Methodist Church. It features handmade items for sale – foods and beverages, jewelry, pottery, woven baskets, candles, scarves, dolls, soaps, purses and Christmas items from artisans. Mission Marketplace is a faith-based, ecumenical initiative to improve the lives of people all over the world. All proceeds go back to support underdeveloped nations fight poverty and give the artisans a chance to sell their wares. – Mary Ann Van Osdell

Boo Bama festivities took place at Cordaro’s Event Center on Nov. 1 put on by the Caddo-Bossier LSU Alumni Association. Good food, music, friends, game videos, decor, swag, purple and gold popcorn and a large tailgating-sized Jenga were among the fun of it all. – Mary Ann Van Osdell

“pARTy Like a Primate” was a clever event held Nov. 8 at Nader’s Gallery featuring mixed media local artists and craft cocktail samplings. Artists included Edward Nader, Laura Harter, Nellie Lyons and Paige Powell. Ticket proceeds from the opening night were given to Chimp Haven and samplings included artisanal craft cocktails. One was called The Last Word and another Basil Julep. – Mary Ann Van Osdell
