On the Scene
Sci-Port Discovery Center brought science to the table with their new STEM-inspired exhibit, “Dining by Design.” This one-month-long exhibit featured 16 local professional designers that have donated their talents and time to create these one-of-akind dining tablescapes. A special sneak preview of the exhibit was hosted in early September before it opened to the public. The event included the opportunity to meet all 16 designers, delicious food by John Cariere Catering, an open bar, a liquid nitrogen root beer bar, and a chance to interact with the Kendra Scott Boutique “Color Lab Bar.”

FROM OUR FILES: The LSU Health Shreveport Foundation hosted a sponsor party at the home of Tammy and Shane Barton to thank the sponsors of their fundraiser on Sept. 9 at the Shreveport Convention Center. The new LSU president, William Tate IV, was on hand to greet and thank the sponsors of the signature fundraising event for the foundation. Well-known local jeweler Sid Potts was the sponsor of the party, and long-time foundation supporter Susan Moffitt won a pair of earrings donated by Sid Potts. Dorsey Summerfield provided the entertainment, and wellknown local chef Jason Brady catered the evening’s cuisine.
