The Krewe of Justinian hosted their annual Mardi Gras bal at Horseshoe’s Riverdome, where guests were greeted with a Willy Wonka-themed entrance, complete with a golden ticket for everyone. Royalty this year included Captain Jimmy Franklin, King Larry Pettiette, Queen Erin Leigh Waddell, Duke Chance Nerren, Duchess Anna Priestley, Duke Trey Giglio and Duchess Sandra Monroe. The Georgia Bridgewater Orchestra provided entertainment. – Mark Crawford

The Bossier Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting The Bossier Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 2, at the Bossier Civic Center. The 2021 Business Award winners included the Top Business Person of the Year, Patrick Gullatt; Business of the Year, Cyber Innovation Center; and Small Business of the Year, Dillas Quesadillas. Silver Star Smokehouse catered the dinner.

Go Red for Women American Heart Association Louisiana held a stellar event with Chairwoman Jana Freeman Forrest presiding over the Feb. 8 festivities where red ruled the night. Held at Sam’s Town Hotel and Casino, hundreds of guests turned out in support of educating women about their number one killer: heart disease.

The Commemorative 80th Anniversary of the Eighth Air Force at Sam’s Town Hotel and Casino. The event was held on Saturday, Feb. 5, and included a seated dinner with guest speaker Drew Brees, former quarterback for the New Orleans Saints. A custom chocolate mousse dessert also featured a cookie with the Eighth Air Force logo and marshmallow B-52 bomber. – Mark Crawford
