CORK 2023 The Red River Revel hosted their annual winecentered fundraiser, CORK, on April 1 at Festival Plaza in downtown Shreveport. The sold-out event featured over 100 wines poured and food samples from more than a dozen local restaurants, including Dripp Donuts, Texas Roadhouse and RNL Cookery Corner. This was the 17th annual CORK, and money raised from ticket sales directly benefit the Red River Revel Arts Festival. – Mark Crawford

Crawfest 2023 Shreveport’s oldest park, Betty Virginia Park, in the heart of the South Highlands neighborhood, was home again to the three-day Crawfest music festival, March 17-19. Bands included Tipsey, Maggie Rose, Bayou Gypsy and headliner Sister Hazel. C&C Mercantile hosted a Maker’s Space where you could pick up locally made hats and T-shirts right on the spot. There were more than a dozen food options, including Sweetport Ice Cream and Dripp Hot Chicken. – Mark Crawford
