Community Foundation of North Louisiana works every day to ensure we live in a strong, vibrant community. Strong communities improve the quality of all citizens’ lives. A strong community provides for its most vulnerable citizens. This may include access to high-quality preschool or after-school care for children with disabilities. A strong community supports its citizens from cradle to career. For some this may be access to quality health and mental health care while bolstering workforce opportunities for others. A strong community promotes the health and well-being of the whole person. This could include access to the arts or safe, outdoor recreation. A strong community is aplace of opportunity and growth for all. A strong community can only exist when many in the community work together. In all programming, CFNLA strives to bring people and organizations together to create positive change and invigorate this place we all call home. We could not do this without our many partners.
These partners include both donors and nonprofit organizations. From serving our most vulnerable to enhancing the quality of our lives, North Louisiana nonprofit organizations are vital pieces of the puzzle that fit together to build a strong community.
In 2022, donors like you donated a record-breaking $2.39 million to nonprofits through Give for Good. We invite you to join us on May 2 for North Louisiana’s largest day of giving as we assemble together for good. Established in 2014 by CFNLA, Give for Good has raised over $16 million for our community! Notably, all dollars raised go to participating nonprofits, and CFNLA receives no proceeds.
Through Give For Good, you can discover area nonprofit organizations and make generous contributions to support one or even many causes. This unique day focused entirely on giving back raises unrestricted dollars so area nonprofits can continue providing life-changing assistance and community enhancing programs.
By participating in Give for Good, you help build a stronger community. Specifically, by donating online during Give For Good, you help raise crucial unrestricted dollars for nonprofit businesses. Donations at any level can really make a difference. A community giving together is much more powerful than any one donor alone. Whether a donation is $10 or $10,000, all donations are transformational for our community and indispensable to the nonprofit services they support.
Since 2014, the number of Give For Good donors, participating organizations and total amount raised have more than doubled! This is due in part to the Lagniappe Fund, a bonus pool that provides matching donations on a pro rata basis, giving nonprofits “a little something extra.” This is a great return on investment because it ensures your donations stretch even further. We are so thankful to those who generously make The Lagniappe Fund possible: Grayson Foundation; Powers Foundation; BlueCross BlueShield Louisiana; the Heard, McElroy and Vestal Advised Fund; Willis-Knighton Health System; Community Foundation of North Louisiana; HiTech and other private donors.
