The Arc Caddo-Bossier hosted its Wine Dine Equine event on Saturday, Nov. 1, at the Silver Lake Ballroom in downtown Shreveport. The event supports The Arc’s GREAT program, which provides equine-assisted services to people with disabilities. The 2025 event, titled “Unleash Your Equestrian Spirit,” included live music, a silent auction and a multi-station food court with food by multiple local chefs. — Mark Crawford

The Louisiana Association for the Blind hosted its annual Halloween party, The Eye Ball, on Saturday, Oct. 25, at Live! Casino and Hotel. The evening featured dueling DJs, great raffle prizes and a $4,000 costume contest. Proceeds from this event go toward transforming the Louisiana Association for the Blind’s headquarters building into the area’s premier Assistive Technology Training Center, where people who are blind or visually impaired can purchase and train on the latest technology to help them access the world around them. — Mark Crawford
