The Greater Shreveport Chamber has announced this year’s 40 Under Forty class. The Young Professionals Initiative of Northwest Louisiana sponsors the awards program. It honors 40 professionals under 40 who have excelled in their careers, education, professional development, community leadership and volunteer efforts. The announcement was made at Louisiana Downs on Aug. 16, and the 18th annual event will be held at Sam’s Town on Dec. 6. — Mary Ann Van Osdell

The annual event of Robinson’s Rescue, Fancy Feast, was held at Fairfield Manor on June 20. This year’s theme, “Coastal Kitty,” was meant to evoke images of the Carolina Coast. Eight cats were sponsored this year and owned by local community members, which provided an opportunity to talk about all things feline while enjoying a five-course dinner specially prepared by Chef John Cariere. — Mary Ann Van Osdell
