The 20th Annual Community Renewal Croquet Classic fundraiser featured 40 teams, with fatherand-son team Mark and Drew Hebert taking home top honors in the competitive division. The April 27 event on the LSUS campus, which also included food from Ono’s Hawaiian Grill, raised nearly $50,000. – David Westerfield

Dressing the Part, a style show and brunch, was the Shreveport Little Theatre Guild fundraiser held April 13 at Margaritaville. Acts and scenes were set up and included songs from “Mary Poppins,” “Mamma Mia” and “Footloose.” Ladies’ clothing was by Worth. Program participants included the Junior and Senior Academy of SLT.

The Shreveport-Bossier Opera Guild hosted a gala and casino night event to celebrate the 70th season of the Shreveport Opera. The special event featured the theme “Casino Royale: A 0070th Secret Agent Gala,” and was hosted at The Petroleum Club in downtown Shreveport. The funds raised help support the Shreveport Opera Express (SOX), a touring group of the Shreveport Opera that conducts nearly 100 educational performances every year for over 50,000 school children in Bossier, Caddo, DeSoto and Webster parishes.
