The Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce hosted the 2021 J. Pat Beaird Industry of the Year Luncheon at Sam’s Town Hotel & Casino on Sept. 23. This year, Vintage Realty Company was recognized as the J. Pat Beaird Industry of the Year. Founded 33 years ago, Charles Beaird, brother of Pat Beaird, was an original investor in Vintage Realty. The guest speaker for this year’s event was Brendan McDonough, author of “Who Stands Beside You: The Untold Story of My Lost Brothers” and subject of the feature film “Only The Brave.” – Mark Crawford

The R.W. Norton Art Gallery presented The World of Frida, where guests celebrated artist Frida Kahlo and her incredible inspiration to a generation of artists. The grounds of the museum were overflowing with costumes reflective of Kahlo’s culture. – Emily Feazel
