On Dec. 26, the Independence Bowl Foundation hosted the Camping World Independence Bowl in Shreveport featuring Vanderbilt University versus North Carolina State. The weather was spectacular for the game and tailgating before the game started. Dozens of local businesses and organizations set up shop on the fair grounds and hosted pre-game festivities.The final score of the game was NC State 41 - Vanderbilt 17.

Sports broadcaster Tim Brando became the 28th person inducted into the Northwest Louisiana Walk of Stars on Dec. 26. The induction took place on the outdoor stage at the Red River District. Brando added prints of his hands and feet to a concrete block that will be added to the Northwest Louisiana Walk of Stars.
