So Much More Than Locally Brewed Beer

What we tried:

Kombeercha – Brewed in-house, this is a fun spin on a Kolsch with a blackberry black tea Kombucha.

They now have a full bar with cocktails!

House Sangria – This is a semi-sweet drink, and it’s topped with Redneck Red Muscadine Wine from Landry Vineyards.

Rochester Mule – If you like a Moscow Mule, you’ll love this: Cask & Crew Ginger Spiced Whiskey, fresh-squeezed lime juice and their very own brewed ginger beer.

The Big German Pretzel – Like the name says, this thing is huge and easily shared by two people. You can’t truly enjoy a fresh baked pretzel without dipping sauce, and they have two: Black Heart Cheddar Sauce, which is incredible, and a HWY 80 infused Ale Mustard. I’m not a fan of mustard usually, but I didn’t mind this sauce.

Greek Salad – I love any excuse to eat feta cheese, and this salad is the perfect reason. Romaine lettuce, kalamata olives, tomatoes, red onions, banana peppers and feta cheese combined together with the creamy Italian dressing (they also have an oil and vinegar dressing that would be good on this) and you have yourself a great Greek salad!

BBQ Chicken Pizza – Marinated chicken breast, smoked Gouda, BBQ sauce, red onions, cilantro with a ranch drizzle and their house-made dough that cooks to a crispy perfection. This is by far my favorite BBQ chicken pizza in town.

Meat Jeffro Pizza – Who’s Jeffro? He’s sausage, pepperoni, bacon, tomato sauce, mozzarella, red onions and green peppers which makes the perfect meat lover’s pizza. If you’re like me, you love a white sauce on a pizza, so you can ask for that on any of their pizzas to change things up a bit. You’ll be glad you did.

Dessert – It’s a uniquely crafted option of a Belgian waffle topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and their house-made fruit compote. Who knew ice cream with a Belgian waffle was a great combination? The people at Flying Heart, that’s who. The compote changes each month so ask your server what’s available when you’re there.

Next Visit:

Philly Pizza – Ribeye steak, mozzarella, cream sauce, red onions and green peppers – I LOVE a good Philly cheesesteak sandwich, and I can bet I’ll love this Philly pizza.

Mediterranean Pizza – Feta (!!!), kalamata olives, red onions, banana peppers, pesto drizzle and olive oil. You can even add chicken or sausage. Sign me up, please!

Vibe:

There are several nods to the fact that the building was originally a fire station, and the owners have done a great job keeping up with the increased demand for seating. They’ve enclosed what was an outdoor patio on the front and made a massive patio in the back. It’s a casual place to get a cool, locally brewed beer and a piping hot pizza on a crunchy crust.
