On July 14, Eddie’s Restaurant, a humble Shreveport eatery located at 1956 Hollywood Ave., celebrated 40 years in business. The restaurant was founded in 1978 by Chef Eddie Eugene Hughes. Prior to opening his own restaurant, Hughes had worked for many years in the kitchen of Shreveport’s historic Freeman & Harris Café.

SIP, UNLIMITED, a wine, food and entertainment experience showcasing Northwest Louisiana’s favorite restaurants and wines from around the globe, will be held at Margaritaville Resort Casino on Sunday, Sept. 10. Guests will visit an array of food and wine vendors located throughout the property, offering food and wine tastings.

“For me, it started with the restaurant just doing a ton of fund-raisers – that’s the best way I like to advertise,” said Grant Nuckolls, Shreveport native and proprietor/local franchisee for the Shreveport and Bossier City locations. “As a result, I’ve met a lot of people in the nonprofit sector, and I’ve been able to give back time as well.
