On Jan. 12, the Louisiana Film Prize staff officially kicked off the 2017 season of the film-making competition, which has a grand prize of $50,000. Dozens of local actors, producers, directors and fans packed into the Robinson Film Center for the announcement party. Participants have until July 11 to submit their film for consideration. The festival begins on Oct. 5.
