Shreveport to gain Twisted Root Burger Company

Marking the first move outside of Texas, the Twisted Root Burger Company is coming to Shreveport. The new restaurant will be located at 8690 Line Ave. and will open in late September, early October.

“We opened the first Twisted Root location in Dallas in 2006, and since then we’ve been overwhelmed with the reception,” agreed Chef Jason Boso and proprietor Grant Nuckolls. “After expanding throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, we decided to make Shreveport, La., our first home outside of Texas. We’re so excited to share our concept with the people of Shreveport, and we’re looking forward to meeting our new patrons over burgers and beers.”

The new building will pay homage to the architecture of downtown Shreveport’s historic Texas Avenue, with tumbled French Quarter brick, arched industrial windows, arched parapets and other accents that fit with the building’s architectural character.

Inside, the store will embrace a music theme, which continues Twisted Root’s commitment to making each location unique. More than two dozen guitars will be hung on the walls and above the bar. Hundreds of concert posters, vinyl records and album covers will be used as wall decorations, and an area of the restaurant will feature memorabilia highlighting famous musicians from Shreveport.

The menu will continue to offer Twisted Root’s award-winning burgers, fries and shakes. The bar will feature 10 drafts – including several Louisiana and Shreveport-based craft beers – as well as bottled beers and Twisted Root’s signature Twisted Mule cocktail on tap.

For al fresco dining, garage doors open up to an 800-square-foot covered patio.

It features large fans for warm days and heaters for cooler temperatures, making it a spot to grab some dinner and drinks all year round. Just beyond the covered patio is another outdoor space with 2,500 square feet of flagstone walking paths and large shade trees. Here patrons can relax with a cold beer and play beanbags with their friends under strings of Christmas lights.
