The 2017 Red River Balloon Rally – held in conjunction with the weeklong U.S. National Hot Air Balloon Championship – will take place July 14-15 (Friday-Saturday) at LSU- Shreveport. “It’s something that I happily feed my own child,” Galligan said. “It’s very clean eating. There’s no MSG (monosodium glutamate). Everything we do pretty much is prepared in-house, especially the main chicken salads and the main sides. You don’t have to worry about MSG.

Crawfish, beer and Cajun music – the foundation of Louisiana summertime entertainment – will be featured at downtown Shreveport’s Festival Plaza May 25-28. Hours are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. Thursday and Friday, admission is free until 5 p.m., then $5 per person.
