Next Visit: Pulled pork taco, served with pineapple salsa. How could that not be great? PiriBBQ burger – angus beef, piriBBQ sauce, applewood bacon and cheddar cheese. I’ve never met a burger I didn’t love, especially if there’s cheese and bacon and BBQ sauce on it.

Maytag Walnut Salad: Topped with sliced green apples, tomatoes, tangy dressing, and of course, walnuts. Filet Mignon: Cooked medium, the way every steak should be cooked, with a side of hollandaise (which I would have no trouble drinking with a straw).

Great Raft Brewing, co-founded by Andrew and Lindsay Nations, served up a pint of one of their three flagship brews, Reasonably Corrupt, at Zocolo Neighborhood Eatery and Drinkery. In the short time since that first pint, Great Raft Brewing has exploded onto not only the Shreveport craft beer scene, but all over the Ark-La-Tex region.

Fry Bread: Don’t know what that is? I didn’t either until we ordered it. Think a fluffy sopapilla, smothered in chorizo, onions and peppers, roasted corn, queso and sour cream. Iceberg Salad: Nearly a half a head of iceberg lettuce, topped with bacon, tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions and creamy buttermilk blue cheese dressing.

The BaconFest Burger: the burger patty is 65 percent certified Angus beef and 35 percent ground bacon, topped with a fried egg, pepperjack cheese, mayonnaise and more bacon. This is a bacon burger like none other. Did you see where I mentioned there’s actually bacon in.

Grilled yellow-fin tuna, lettuce, jack cheese, cilantro, mandarin slices and creamy-lime cilantro dressing on a white corn tortilla. Baja Shrimp Quesadilla: Grilled, wild-caught Texas brown shrimp, grilled red bell pepper, onion & jack cheese served with rice and a side of guacamole, pico de gallo and sour cream.

I tried the Enough Said burger, which featured aged cheddar, peppercorn ranch sauce and crunchy potato chips on the juicy burger. I had the fried pickles side dish along with the original Twisted Root Beer. It’s a root beer like no other.

Being a resident of the historic South Highlands neighborhood, when I heard the 5000 block of Line Avenue was getting an upgrade with a new-to-Shreveport restaurant, I got excited. When I finally made my way through the front doors, I couldn’t wait to try everything on the huge menu.
