The Shreveport Regional Arts Council presented Critical Mass 5, an open invitational exhibition April 6 for all Northwest Louisiana Directory & Roster Artists. Works in the show were reviewed by professional critics selected by “Critic Curator” Robert L. Pincus, Ph.D., who has curated the critics for several previous Critical Mass exhibitions (see Pincus’ review on page 48). Critics selected the work of one visual artist, one literary artist and one performing artist to each receive a solo exhibition or presentation in coolspace. Additionally, each winner will receive a $2,000 cash award to fund their exhibition or presentation and an advertisement featuring the selected artist in a national publication. Examples of the works included “fibre to felt” wearable art, fingerpainting and classic realism.
